Flowers bloom in empty places

2023 has been a real struggle but I made it through. The biggest lesson I've learned from this past year is to trust the process and to keep going, no matter how hard things are. I realised every experience, every moment, every heartbreak, and every mistake got me to where I was supposed to be. Sure, I may have got so damn lost in the process, but that's how we grow and bloom, especially in places we never think.

2023 core memories (mostly in chronological order)

  • Didn't make it to the club for CNY (we all pre-dranked too hard and threw up)
  • Amsterdam trip with friends (Wendy and I had the most amazing, authentic Chinese food one night, which stopped us from being hangry)
  • Found a new job in a start-up company
  • Travelled to Faro with situationship B (and I went cliff jumping for him, even though I can barely swim)
  • Long story short, the grass is not greener on the other side and I resigned from the toxic start-up place after 3 months
  • A stressful period of doing interviews and dealing with family stuff 🙁
  • Super grateful to my line manager for giving me the opportunity to work at my old company again
  • Funemployment life for 2 months in between jobs XD
  • Watched "Guys and Dolls" (highly recommend!) and saw a glimpse of Simu Liu who was also there in the audience
  • Girls' trip to Malaga celebrating our 10 years of friendship
  • Trip to Hong Kong/Macau with my brother
  • Rejoined my old company and feeling a sense of belonging
  • My brother graduated from the University of Liverpool
  • Completed a Tough Mudder 10K with Wendy
  • Attended BCS meet-ups by myself and met new friends
  • Went to a Lauv concert with situationship T (Lauv is so amazing!!!)
  • Learned how to make doughnuts
  • Solo travelled to Vienna on my birthday
  • Got into 2 situationships this year (B and T), both of who ghosted me in the end (B hurt the most and I cried a waterfall lol)
  • Went on the worst first date ever (it does makes a funny story to tell people)
  • Opened my heart again and met L (so far so good!)
  • Watched "Unbelievable" with L
